Eric was one of my oldest friends, going back to elementary school days at Walter Hays. We were in the same Scout troop (Pack 57, Den 2 I believe), and we enjoyed working on creative writing projects together.  But most of all we bonded over our model trains - a hobby Eric kept and enjoyed throughout his life. Once we got to Paly our paths drifted apart, but we reconnected through the Class of '73 reunions, and I always made time to visit him and talk trains at his house in PA. Eric was a sweet and ganuine person, and a good friend, and I am deeply saddened by his passing.  Fare thee well.

I'm so sad to hear about Eric's passing. He was such a good guy. So positive and happy. I too knew Eric since kindergarden. I remember having a great conversation with him at the reunion at the Palo Alto Art Center many reunions ago. He was still positive and happy, he hadn't changed. Rest in peace dear Eric!

I too recall Eric Nelson from Walter Hays elementary school in Palo Alto, (And Pack 57 too!).  Later of course we attended what was called Jordan junior High School and then finally Palo Alto High School, before I left Palo Alto to attend the University of Oregon in 1974.  .  I recall Eric as a kind person, and am saddened to learn from Bill Strubbe (Palo Alto High Sbhool 1973) of Eric's "passing" earlier this month.

Eric and I were born on the same day, so we developed a special fondness and appreciation for one another.  We didn't spend a lot of time together, but there was an unspoken kinship. He was gentle, kind, and loyal - to all he loved.  He was observant.  And creative. We worked closely together on the 9th grade Jordan yearbook. He worked ceaselessly to get great photographs.  And succeeded.

This year on "our day," (only six weeks before he left us), his wish for me was to be "richly blessed with peace and joy and everything that makes you happiest....and good health for years to come."  In memory of his goodness, friendship and love,  I pass his wish forward to you.

Thank you, Eric.  Peace be with you.

I am so sad about Eric Nelson’s passing.  The last conversation I had with him, in 2017, it was very clear that he was heartbroken and so bereft since his wife, Eve’s death, earlier that year.  Rest in peace together, Eric and Eve.

Eric and I were classmates at Walter Hays and I always remembered him being such a nice guy, so genuine.  I was lucky enough to know him in our adult years as the same nice, sweet guy he was when we were children.  He was so devoted to his wonderful wife, Eve, and when she left us a big part of Eric's world was shattered.  I hope that you have now found peace, Eric, with your beloved Eve.  We will all miss you.

I was saddened to hear of Eric's passing.  I also had known Eric since kindergarden at Walter Hays Elementary School, and we were in Cub Scouts together enjoying all the antics that comes with being a Cub Scout.  I also remember his mother's contributions in our Cub Scout days.  Eric always seemed to have a good outlook and a wonderful sense of humor.  I enjoyed seeing him in more recent years at our class reunions, and had not learned of Eve predeceasing him;  It is tough to lose someone you love, and these transitions can be among the hardest to move through.  If any of you are going through a tough time and would like someone to talk to feel free to call me at 408 892 5917.  Better times always lie ahead, it's just hard to realize that sometimes.  Wishing you peace Eric.
